this was a really weird outfit shoot because it was more like an experiment. I threw on my favourite vintage dress and clipped in a bow Carrie made for me and then photographed the outfit in a new place at an unusual time. I actually took some time to photoshop the pictures this time! i’m still trying to find my photography style- something between the realms of vintage-looking and fairytale-ish, though I’m veering more on the fairytale side. think 'jane austen novels and lula magazine'. speaking of lula… issue 13 is out tomorrow!

life has been busy this week. i've rearranged my room and bought rails to put all my vintage frocks on, and made 3 moodboards and drank lots of tea. i can't stop to listen to Your Kisses, it's the most beautiful song. it makes me think of crisp autumn days in the english countryside, when the sun shines on damp grass and the rain touches everything.

I don’t think anyone should ever be afraid to try different styles and step outside of their comfort zone. You might try on an outfit you never thought would suit you and be surprised! I was quite surprised with this little ensemble- it’s smart and preppy which is quite the opposite to my usual choice of frills, lace and pastel colours. I kept elements of my personal style- the peter pan collar and simple hairdo- but I thought I’d expand and try different jewellery and a different colour palette. I’m quite chuffed with my first autumn outfit! I feel like I need to freshen up my look. Which brings me to ask… do you think I should get bangs?

i'm not one for posting lookbooks but this one really caught my breath. just the blend of extravangance and vintage knocks me away. what i wouldn't do to get my hands on that long black dress... *sigh*

you've probably all seen ulyana sergeenko on street style blogs or at various fashion weeks around the world- i know i've seen her everywhere on the net! but i never really appreciated or respected her because she was just a face- i didn't know what she did. i had no clue she was a designer. now, there is a newfound respect within me for this woman whose designs are so beyond extraordinary.
