falling in and out of love

ENTIRE OUTFIT: VINTAGE

Josh and I went to a local vintage fair the other day, one which really had my hopes high. I wanted to find a beautiful long lace dress or a pretty little hair accessory- anything pretty, anything that would perk up my bad week! I didn't find anything. However, we did go to one of my favourite vintage shops after the fair, and I found this dress! The cute buttons and pleats are right up my ally. It's the perfect dress to stow away for next spring! Or hey, maybe I can try and rock the whole 'florals for fall' look that is all over the high street right now!

I found the shoes in a charity shop the other day. I already treasure them! They match the half of my wardrobe that harbours simple, tailored clothes in neutral colours.

I apologize for my long absence. I've had a terrible week, a week that involves burglary, arguments, tears, lost shoes and a typewriter stuck in a box. Want to know what that's all about? Yeah, I didn't think so. The good thing is that hopefully (fingers crossed!) starting tomorrow I can get back on track with outfit posts, DIY's, makeup tutorials and more.

How has your week been?

TOP AND SHOES: TOPSHOP | SKIRT: THRIFTED | SOCKS: SOCKBOP | LIPSTICK: RUBY WOO, MAC

when I feel like being girly and feminine, I nearly always opt for an outfit that involves polka dots. I plucked this dress (styled as a skirt) from the rails of my local topshop, not even bothering to try it on, taking a chance on a size too small in the hopes that a miracle would happen and it would fit me perfectly in time for the gig I was going to just 3 hours later. I guess I was lucky. last minutes shoppers like me are rarely blessed with such a chancy find.

lula issue #13

i know lula issue #13 isn't available in america yet, so i thought i'd scan in some of the editorials. these are my favourite shots; the pale clothing palette and the floral accessories are proof that such a pretty, 'garden fairy' style can exist in autumn as well as spring.

it's true that lula can be quite hard to get a hold of, and a lot of people ask: where can i buy lula magazine? you can purchase lula from news stand! they ship to the USA, australia and the UK and they offer free next day delivery!! just a little recommendation to make everyones lives much easier and prettier ;)

SHIRT: THRIFTED | JEANS & HEELS: NEW LOOK

Sometimes I shock myself with what I suddenly fancy wearing, and today was one of those days. I fancied denim on denim. That’s really strange for me, but seeing so much ‘leather and denim’ on the catwalks lately has really made me want to go for it. I kind of regretted it after half an hour though, because England is having a huge heat wave right now and looking stylish and chic has nothing on keeping cool and sweat-less. I soon traded the denim combo for a light, floral summer dress and sandals. Who was I kidding.

On another note… A lot of you commented on how you liked my braid in the last post… do you guys want me to post a fishtail braid tutorial sometime? It looks harder than it actually is, trust me. You’ll get it in no time!
