claire pettibone heirloom collection

I'm quite in love with weddings, femininity and lingerie. That's why I was quite quick about posting this- these images contain all of those things rolled in to one!

This is the new Claire Pettibone Heirloom Collection, a medley of French lace, silk and embroidery. I know this isn't a wedding blog or anything but I couldn't sit by and ignore these painstakingly beautiful images! Each one of those garments has been so carefully crafted, so lovingly designed... I think I die a little each time I look at them.

PS. Sorry for posting so many photos...

LACE DRESS: VINTAGE | GLASSES: VINTAGE | PURSE: MANGO

I've been feeling pretty ill these past couple of days, and you what its like when you're ill- you get bored of staying in bed and eating cake, you want to get up and be active and do something! Well, I do anyhow. That's how these photos came to be. These are just a few pictures of my home and my belongings. I haven't had a chance to wear that beautiful lace dress yet, I just can't think of how to style it. My mind is totally blocked. Any ideas?

SUNNIES & DRESS: VINTAGE | BELT: TOPSHOP | SHOES: KURT GEIGER

It's Chictopia's week of giving for the next few days. Chictopians are encouraged to post looks inspired by their favourite charities, and the winners charity (determined by how many favourites it has) will receive a donation equal to the amount of entries in the competition (so hurry and enter if you'd like to help a good cause!)

The charity I've chosen is called Camfed, an organization that helps educate girls in Africa so they can earn a better income and raise healthier families. I chose Camfed because I believe that we are so lucky (us that live in safe and prosperous countries such as England and America) to have an education and be given the opportunity to follow our dreams and make something of ourselves! Girls in places like Africa are rarely blessed with such things, but don't they deserve them too? Don't they deserve opportunities to make their lives better than what they are? Don't they deserve to be given the chance at a life they've always hoped for?

I hope you're all having a lovely day!

TROUSERS: JANE NORMAN | WRAP-AROUND CARDIGAN: THRIFTED | HEELS: MISS K | HAT: H&M

So this is what I wore yesterday, when me and Josh had planned to spend the afternoon shopping in the city and sipping coffee in Starbucks. Instead, we ended up on the sofa all afternoon watching The Goonies, eating tasty crumpets and drinking dozens of cups of tea. Fun, fun, fun!

SWEATER & SHIRT: VINTAGE | CAT EYE GLASSES: THRIFTED

I call this one the 80’s- moody- librarian- geek- girl- who-doesn’t- know- how- to- dress. You like? I think I might do more of these vintage-style photos, maybe once a month or something, with different themes and strange outfits. Think… to-the-floor lace dresses, black lipstick and underwear as outwear. Or maybe something more subtle.

Josh bought me these pink roses the other day, aren’t they beautiful? I’ve never been given flowers before.

SCARF/HEELS/BELT: NEW LOOK | SKIRT: RIVER ISLAND | RINGS: TOPSHOP & THERAPY | CARDIGAN: VERTICAL DESIGN | GREY TOP: THRIFTED

I’m one of these people that find autumn/winter the hardest seasons to dress. I guess its because my urge to look stylish and my urge to stay warm are constantly battling against each other, to the point where my need to keep warm prevails and I end up sporting an old sweater, a grey scarf and a pair of jeans and boots. Boring! This fall I intend to merge style with practicality, and this was my first attempt.

Mustard and turquoise is a colour combo that everyone is trying this season, so I dug out an old cardigan and paired it with my new scarf. Then, because I wore this outfit to a formal meeting, I added a smart pencil skirt and heels. Oh, and the hair bun! With knitwear in hues like this, and 40’s inspired pencil skirts/heels splashed across the high street right now, there’s no reason why we can’t all look fabulous yet stay toasty-warm too!
