Bowler Girl

Dress: Miss Selfridge | Hat: Vintage | Bag: Vintage | Swan Ring: Matalan | Sunglasses: Vintage

I bought this dress quite a while ago and it's just been hanging from my bedroom door, waiting to be worn on the perfect day. As you can see, it has three rather large splits up the front so the perfect day had to be both sunny and not too windy (or my knickers would have been on show with just one gust of wind!)

Other than this dress, I've been finding it hard to find spring/summer clothes that I really like, and at a price that I actually want to pay! A few months ago I would have said '£60 for a dress? Yes please!' But now I just can't see what I was thinking. As time goes by, I'm learning the importance of money, and of saving it and prioritising my spending (which has always been something I've struggled with.) Now, I'd much rather spend £30 on four or five vintage items than £30 on just one top from the high street.

Blue Stripes

Top: Thrifted | Skirt: Vintage | Shoes: Red Herring | Bag: Primark | Hat: New Look

I’ve been so busy lately designing blogs and working on my new graphic design website that I have just completely neglected my blog, which I sincerely apologise for. But hey, if you want your blog redesigned, or bits of it, give me a shout! The design site with our prices and portfolio isn’t up just yet, but I’ll be happy to give you a quote. I’ve also been working on another project, completely unrelated to graphic design and blogging, but that one’s a secret for now ;)
In other news, the sun has been amazing here in not-usually-sunny England. Unfortunately, that isn’t soo good for my camera because everywhere I stood for pictures, even in the shade, my clothes wound up looking unbelievably bright on camera! Whoopsy.
I’m still in shock that I could go outside with nothing on arms. Literally the day before, I was all wrapped up in a scarf and coat, walking through the fog in the city centre and the next day I’m prancing in front of a camera, bare armed in a forest with a thousand gnats biting at my ankles! Nice.
How is spring treating you guys?

DIY Chevron Nails

I'm not the kind of the girl that paints her nails every week, or even every month, but when I saw this nail art post on Cait's blog  the other day, I couldn't resist gettting the ol' paints out and giving it a go.

I ordered the nail stickers from this eBay shop. It's a British eBay shop but she ships worldwide and her prices are very reasonable. She offers lots of different shape stickers- I ordered quite a few! So get choosing and have some sticker fun!

Here are some steps to ensure your nails turn out perfect!

1. Before applying your nail stencils, dab the sticky bit on your hand a few times to get rid of some of the stickiness. This is particularly important if you are placing the stickers on already painted nails.

2. Choose two complimentary colours. I suggest maybe navy & orange, lilac & pale yellow or green & purple.

3. Paint your first layer of nail polish, but make it a thin layer! Leave it to dry for 10 minutes then paint another thin layer on top. Don't go heavy with the nail polish because when you peel the stickers off you will peel the paint off too!

4. Finally, after another 10 minutes of waiting for your second layer of paint to dry, carefully peels the stickers away and apply a clear topcoat. Voila!

Lazy Sunday

Dress: Topshop | Bag: Primark | Clogs: Topshop | Earrings: Topshop

Here it is, my first real 'spring' outfit! OK, so its not really warm enough outside yet to not wear anything on my arms (or wear open toe sandals) but how could I resist throwing on my brightest frock when its been so sunny here!

On Sunday, me, Josh and my sister took another trip to the park to take some photos and have a little walk. Josh is really sweet because he just happily toddles along and watches as me and my sister take photos of my outfit. I think he finds it funny, but can you blame him?! We are funny people us bloggers, posing on street corners and pretending to cross the road for the camera. Plus, I don't think anyone could resist laughing at me when I'm posing for the camera, I do it ridiculously! See the awkwardness in my face? Ouch.

Spring Essentials

I love spring, it’s my favourite season. But this year I am completely unprepared for it. I can’t remember how I ever got through last spring without sorbet shirts, ice cream coloured jeans and the usual coral & turquoise combo. I have none of that in wardrobe! So I put together this list of pretty spring essentials to help the ‘adjusting-to-spring process.
If you follow me on Pinterest (because I’m on there now, finally! And Facebook!) you’ll find inspirational collages like this and more. Come say hello!

The Vintage Fair

The Vintage Fair, Birmingham, The Custard Factory

I attended a vintage fair yesterday and had so much fun! Iwas their ‘VIP’ for the day (hehe!)so they gave me £50 to spend, free tea and cake inThe Tea Room (this adorable vintage-styled cafe they’d set up) and I also hadmy hair and make-up done for free by The Vintage Salon ladies! They run themost amazing salon (opening in The Custard Factory soon) where you can have any vintage hairstyleyou want! If you live in the area or nearby, you need to check them out.
I would like to thank Lou Lou, Anna and The Vintage Salonfor such a wonderful day!
After my hair was finished (it looked like a work of art!! Woah!) Me and my mum took a little walk around The Custard Factory, which, in case you wondered what this strange place was, is basically an old custard factory that has been converted into this super sweet coven of creativity. In there you will find vintage shops, craft shops, boutiques, photography studios, graphic design studios and much more. I found a little spot where I could quickly snap an outfit photo and then we were off exploring! What do you think of my hair?? I love it SO much! I need to learn to do this.
