Through the Dunes

Dress: Warehouse | Headband & Cardigan: Oasis | Alphabet purse: Alphabet Bags | Tote bag: Cath Kidston

I'm much more of a Cath Kidston / Orla Kiely kind of girl than a Mulberry / Kurt Geiger girl. I suppose part of that comes from the fact that Cath Kidston is a teeny bit more affordable than Mulberry for instance. But I also really love the fact that homely, kitsch brands offer fun designs and bold and bright prints in everything from clothing and accessories to the little things like stationary and sewing kits.

I've taken a little summer break this week before I get back home and back to work. We all need a seaside break! This is the first time I've ever blogged on holiday, and seeing as I don't have Internet access on my laptop I'm blogging from my phone. So apologies if the post possibly looks weird or the fonts are funny or something... I'm using the Blogger app.

Hopefully more posts to come in the week if this one uploads ok!

Wish Magazine

If, like me, you have a copy of Wish magazine and have been pondering over how to use that beautiful last page that the Wish girls so kindly provided as a cut out page, then look no further! Me and my sister sat over a cup of tea and the Olympic games going over ways we could use that last page: to cover a notebook, to line the inside of our business folders, to even make into a paper bow tie. We came up with so many ideas that I thought Id' share a few with you fellow Wish lovers. Put that page to good use! Caitlin Shearer's lovely illustrations don't land in our laps every day you know. ;)

I decided to keep it nice and simple and make an envelope from my Wish magazine. Try it! The steps are below.

You'll need:

1. Draw your envelope template onto a piece of card. Make it either the same shape as the one you see in picture 1, or experiment with other envelope shapes.

2. Cut out your template.

3. Lie your envelope template on your wish paper and draw around it in pencil.

4. Once you're done drawing around it, get your scissors and cut the shape from out of the Wish paper!

5 & 6. In picture 5 you'll see my Wish paper has now been cut into the same shape as my envelope template. Now take your glue and glue the longer flaps of paper together.

7 & 8. Add glue to one of the smaller paper flaps and stick it down. Now leave the other end open so you can put something inside it and send it to a friend!

Here is a big thank you to Carrie and Lucy for providing us with such a source of inspiration. Its been the best magazine I've read in a long time!

Sponsor Feature

Say hello to one of July's sponsors, Nicole of Happy Pretty Things! This July sponsor feature is a little late, yes, but just go with it!

Nicole is from New York and her blog, Happy Pretty Things, is an inspiration blog featuring her favorite craft projects, discoveries and more! I love inspiration blogs because of how much easier they make life for us bloggers and crafters. With blogs like Nicoles, we can be lazy and find plenty of beautiful ideas in one place on the net. Handy!

July Photo Diary: Summer Color

July has been a pretty nice month. My only wish is that the sun had shone just a little bit more than it did (I think we had about 4 days of real sun?) But I can't complain. We've had our large bout of rain now so lets hope August is sun-filled and glorious!

In July I went on holiday for a few days and had a splendid time with my wonderful family and my boyfriend, Josh! We had a garden tea party for Josh's parents, as you saw in my previous post. Me and Josh took a trip on the train to Shrewsbury where we ate lots of yummy food and visited the cutests shops ever! That's one of the things me and Josh enjoy most together, taking romantic trips to quaint little towns or fun cities and doing a bit of exploring.

How was your July?
