Pink Wellies

Dress: Next | Cardigan: Vintage | Wellies: c/o Joules | Hairband: Oasis | Tights: New Look

Pink was never my favourite colour. I don't think I ever wore pink through my high school years; not pink earrings, not pink shoes, not even a little pink in my accessories! I'll admit though, I was going through a bit of a 'punk' stage back then. ;)

Now, bright colours are my best friends. I just love looking bright! I feel happier wearing bold colours and happy prints as opposed to darker tones. Which is why a part of me is going to miss summer. In summer you can wear coral, mint, turqouise and be totally on trend! In Autumn, everyone kinda sticks to plum/camel/navy/black. Don't get me wrong though, I'm looking forward to styling those tones too!

Now, lets talk about wellies. These were sent to me by Joules. I've never really worn wellies before, or bought from Joules, so it was an all new experience for me. Now, I'm hooked on both. Since I slipped my toes these pink beauties I've been craving more and more wellies, its insane! The brighter the better too, although I spotted a pair of navy wellies the other day that caught my fancy for autumn/winter. I wonder how many boots a lady can purchase before going over the top? ;)

Fall Floral

Dress: Zara | Shoes: River Island | Tights: Topshop | Ring: Seld | Purse: Cath Kidston | Bag: Vintage

I'll openly admit that this is not the most exciting of outfits to post on my blog. It might have been more blog-worthy had I worn an amazing pair of tan heels instead of flats, but come on. I am not one of those bloggers that will wear their highest heels on normal day trips, for the sake of the outfit photos. Neither can I stash a pair of heels in my bag; lugging around my DSLR is enough for me!

I have respect for the bloggers that are always looking super sleek in stilettos and aviators sunnies though- i don't know how they do it, and all the time too! Gosh, I'd just die if I had to look like that all the time. I'm finding that I'm turning into a creature of comfort nowadays. I'm even looking for a pair of cute converse trainers, because I think they'd be rather comfy and they would totally make a little skirt, chunky knit jumper and opaque tights look amazing.

Work has been crazy again lately, and because I'm setting up my design site and my design blog (secrets, secrets, secrets) I've been neglecting this blog a teeny bit. But craft posts and outfit posts will be more regular now, yippee! And Autumn is a much more fun month for craft anyway- we can do tons with autumn leaves and old sweaters. Stick around!

Preparing for autumn

Autumn- its finally here! Since we didn't have much of a summer in England this year I've been eagerly anticipating the little treasures that this season brings; those cedar-crisp autumn mornings, long walks across crunchy leaves, chunky cardigans and cable-knit tights... It all happens now. And my fellow British bloggers will understand what I mean when I say that all the period drama start this month too: Mrs Biggs, Downton Abbey, The Bletchley Circle... Good times.

Here are a few brilliant things that you'll see on the blog throughout Autumn. I've been a hasty girl this year when it comes to stocking up on Autumn wears! Wellies (courtesy of Joules), Orla Kiely dresses and tops, Zara floral prints... I can't wait to jump around the woods in my new things and show the photos to you all here!

What are you looking forward to this Autumn?

Sponsor Feature | Bait footwear

The only sponsors that I accept on this blog are blogs and businesses that I feel you will all really like. If they aren't relevant to the likes and interests of my readers then its a no. When Bait came along, I knew they were a perfect fit. Why? For starters, I'm pretty sure that everyone who reads this blog loves shoes (what girl doesn't?!) and secondly, who doesn't like vintage-inspired shoes??

I'm a bit funny about wearing genuine vintage shoes, as I know a lot of other women are, so I think Bait are the perfect solution. Take a peek below at some of my favorite Bait picks!
